STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE FIGURE OF A SPHINX AND A STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE FIGURE OF A SLEEPING CHILD circa 1800-1810, unmarked, of Prattware type, the first press modeled as a small sphinx seated upright with pearls and curls, her head turned to the left, on a rectangular base, enriched overall in brown and green, h: 4 1/4 in.; the second modeled as a sleeping child in a hooded basketweave cradle, wearing a red nightdress, tucked in a yellow blanket, the cradle with rockers sponged in black and blue, l: 3 5/8 in.
