SWATOW BLUE GROUND SLIP-DECORATED CHARGER, FUJIAN PROVINCE, MING DYNASTY (SECOND HALF OF 16TH CENTURY) the deep interior painted in white slip against a greyish-blue glaze with three chrysanthemum flowerheads reserved against a feathery foliate stem, encircled on the rim with leafy sprigs painted with dots alternating with a lotus bloom on a feathered scroll, the everted rim set with stippled florets on a scroll, the exterior left in blue glaze, dia: 15.75 in.

Literature: A very similar example was sold at Sotheby's New York, 19 MARCH 2007, lot 756. Deaccessioned from The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York.
