THREE CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN SPOON RESTS, CIRCA 1760
the first, of fluted narrow hexagonal shape, with central design of figures in a courtyard, with columns and trees within a border of flowers and lovebirds in iron-red on branches, w: 5 1/8 in.; a very small spoon rest, with a watery extensive landscape, all within a thin black line, w: 4 in.; and a sepia landscape with travelers going across a bridge with mountains and water beyond, within gilt serrated border below rims, w: 5 in. (3)

  • Condition: Smallest: Finely painted. Five small smears to rims that show up as black but appear to be either burst glaze bubbles or tiny enamel losses. Medium: Wear to gilt on rims, Small scattered mineral inclusions, but flaws in making not damage. Painting to center is fine and thinly painting. Largest: thin incised band below rim, gilt is worn there. Otherwise OK. All three in overall good condition.
