THREE CHINESE JADES AND A PAIR OF CARVED WALNUT SNUFF BOTTLES the group including a well carved black and white jade group of two young boys wrestling - h: 1.5 in.; a yellowish green jade pair of carved cats with a fungus - w: 2.25 in.; and a small white jade figure of a dignitary, wood stand; and two good carved walnuts formed as snuff bottles, fitted with enameled collars and spoons fashioned as stems (5)

Provenance: By repute, the walnuts were owned by the family's Grandfather who was a tax collector - With the family from about early 20th century Tien Tsin until about 1930 and then Beijing and by descent. Jade was purchased in the late 50s from Chinese dealers that got the jades via Malaysia and brought them to the family.
