THREE NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN ITALIAN COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE FIGURES circa 1900, impressed Bavarian shield marks to bases and undersides, model nos. and Pressnummern 57 and 10; 11/I ;and 55/2 and 1, after the models by Franz Anton Bustelli of 1760, each in contrapposto pose, standing on a rocaille-molded base edged in gilt, including 'Pantalone', depicted leaning forward with pointed black cap and beard, wearing a long overcoat, his waistcoat, breeches and leggings in iron-red; 'Julia', depicted with her head turned to one side and her right arm raised, standing and looking to her left, a ribbon in her hair and around her neck, wearing a green riding jacket with and long skirt trimmed in gilt; and 'Octavio', depicted leaning forward and blowing a kiss with his right hand, his left hand in his pocket and his yellow tricorn hat tucked under his left arm, wearing a blue jacket, puce waistcoat and grey breeches, h: 7 1/8 in. Literature: Originally modeled in 1760 by Franz Anton Bustelli (1723-1763), these four porcelain sculptures form part of a celebrated series of sixteen Italian Comedy Figures.
