TRAMP ART DOUBLE ROOM BOX DOLLHOUSE WITH TRAMP ART FURNISHINGS Originally from the Margaret Strong Collection with period tramp art made furnishings (15 pieces total), ceramic accessories, hand crocheted bedspread, period wall papers, framed period artwork, and plexiglass (added later) front covers.
Tramp Art was usually done with a penknife on cigar boxes and crates to decorate the edges with chip and notch carving, done in layers. These items were traded by wanderers in exchange for food, popular from the Civil War to the 1930's and became a kind of folk art - h:18.50 w:14.75 d:9.50 in.

Provenance: Previously gifted to the Lee-Fendall House, Museum and Garden.
