TWO DELFT APOTHECARY WET DRUG JARS ON FLARING PEDESTAL FEET, 18TH CENTURY AND LATER
neither signed under bases, the first labeled 'S. De Iuiubus' with a scrolling label topped by a floral vase enclosed by a pair of birds, h: 9 1/2 in.; and the other labeled 'S. De; Hyssopo' within a scrolling label with birds and flowers, h: 9 in. (2)

    Homes, Classic American Interiors, Better Homes and Gardens, Traditional Home and Colonial Williamsburg Journal
  • Condition: De:Hyssopo - rim with glaze loss almost all around, glaze loss in spots around spreading circular foot. Spout with small repair to top and possibly ground down and with glaze loss all around. Handle with glaze loss to both sides of handle and scuffing . Losses of glaze to interior, too.
    Scattered firing flaws throughout. De.iuiubis - Less glaze flakes than the other. Spout with flakes and scattered ones to rim, foot and handle. Firing flaws. Dented area in label by title, but in the making. Both pieces need a clean! Most flaws visible in photos.
