each of rounded rectangular form, the first with a molded inscription reading 'I navigate as a hero to far laying coasts. Were it not for the gold much sooner would I rest and remain on land and keep my comfort and drink a glass of wine and smoke a pipe of tobacco', by Johann Giese of Iserlohn, for the Dutch market, inscription below bands of figures at leisure in a classical setting, w :6 in.; the next two boxes of brass with copper, one with a hunting scene to one side and circular roundel with portrait; the third with inscription, the underside with roundels representing the continents (3)

  • Condition: Each box has description of inscriptions inside. All three boxes extremely rubbed and worn. Inscriptions hard to read.
