TWO GOLD AMATEUR ATHLETIC UNION OF THE UNITED STATES MEDALS, DIEGES & CLUST, NEW YORK, 1908 AND 1912 both awarded to Harry Kersburg and featuring the same design on the obverse, with classical figure handing out wreaths with a wheel in the foreground, the top "Amateur Athletic Union of the United States" and "MDCCCLXXXVIII," the obverse with a wreath of sporting equipment stating "Champion - Junior - 16LB Hammer - 1908 - H.E. Kersburg," and stamped "Solid Gold - Dieges & Clust N.Y."; the second, with the same obverse design, the reverse with a partial wreath featuring Hermes' sandal and a banner "South Atlantic Association" and "16LB Hammer 1912" and "gold" with "Dieges & Clust Wash. D.C.," both with beaded "Championship" bars, dia: 3.6mm (of medals), 42.8 grams total weight (4)

Catalogue Essay:
Harry Edwin Von Kersburg (1884-1951) played guard for the Harvard football team from 1905 to 1907, eventually becoming assistant coach in 1908, and then head coach of the Holy Cross Crusaders in 1913.
