WOOD & SONS, 1907 the two, awarded to Harry Kersburg, being the same medal, with the obverse stating they were awarded by the "Harvard Athletic Association" with Hermes' sandal, the reverse of the first stating "Record Throwing 16LB Hammer 147 ft June 2 1907 Harry E Kersburg"; the other, with identical design but with inscription "Record 16LB Hammer June 1 1907 H.E. Kersburg 149' 6 1/2," this one stamped "14k U.S. Assay, N.G. Wood & Sons Boston," dia: 3.2mm, 20.12 grams and 20.55 grams respectively, 40.67 grams total weight (2)

Catalogue Essay:
Harry Edwin Von Kersburg (1884-1951) played guard for the Harvard football team from 1905 to 1907, eventually becoming assistant coach in 1908, and then head coach of the Holy Cross Crusaders in 1913.
