Description:

TWO GREEN 'FLAMMINIAN' PIECES DESIGNED BY WILLIAM MOORCROFT (1872-1945), MARKED 'MADE FOR LIBERTY' AND A TALL GREEN 'FLAMMINIAN' VASE, CIRCA 1920
two pieces marked 'Made for Liberty;' including a small vase and a covered ink pot, both covered in a medium green glaze with areas of glaze pooling and circular tube-lined medallion decoration, the small vase, h: 5.25 in and the inkpot, h: 2.5 in.; together with a high-shouldered 'Flamminian' vase with tube-lined medallions to shoulder and fern decoration, h: 9.25 in. (3)

Cataloue Note: 'Flammanian' wares were a range of pottery designed by WIlliam Moorcroft to be retailed by Liberty & Co.

  • Condition: inkwell (made for Liberty & Co.) - has an imperfection to upper right edge, this is in the making not a damage. Small vase has a pin dot glaze gap below rim, and a small area of white glaze loss to rim, again, in the making. Tall vase: has tiny burst glaze bubble above rim, again, in the making. However, with all pieces the Fammarion glaze is thin and can often pool away making it look like there are glaze gaps, but this is not so.
