TWO JAPANESE SILVERED BRONZE MIRRORS, PROBABLY EDO PERIOD the first, of Japanese manufacture, with a paulownia mon to the top and cast with wide high sides, and a two character cyclical date possibly the year of the goat, with the central boss cast as a turtle and a design of cranes amidst cresting waves, bamboo and pine, dia: 4.75 in.; the second mirror, of similar design but undated and without crest, depicting cranes in stippled water and pine beyond, with a tortoise central boss, dia: 4.3 in.
