TWO NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN PASTORAL FIGURE GROUPS circa 1900, painted green crowned CT monogram marks, impressed Bavarian shield marks to bases and undersides, the first impressed 64. and 7; the second impressed 25 and 2, incised 7, after the Frankenthal models by Johann Friedrich Luck, in the manner of Francois Boucher, including The Awakened Sleeper, 'Der Geweckte Schlafer', depicted as a gallant seated on a grassy tuft awakening, wearing a tricorn hat, pink jacket, white waistcoat and breeches, attended by two maidens in laced bodices and striated gowns; and The Disturbed Slumber, 'Der Gestorte Schlummer', depicted as a sleeping gallant recumbent on a grassy tuft, wearing a pink jacket, white waistcoat and breeches, attended by two maidens in laced bodices and striated gowns, removing his hat and tickling him under the chin, both on a rocaille-molded base enriched with gilt trellis, h: 8 x w: 8.25 in.
