the first, modeled as a court lady with a high headdress, her arms clasped in front gaze downcast, with a flaring red skirt, h: 9 3/4 in.; the other court lady with a double chignon coiffure, her hands in front and wearing a pale green narrow skirt, h: 9 in.; the two Ming style figures modeled of brown clay and wearing deep brown robes, both with hands clasped in front at their waists, h: 8 3/4 in. (of taller); and with three small molded male figures each holding a different object (7)

  • Condition: No TL tests. One of Tang style court ladies with head detached, but a clean break (it's the smaller lady). The larger of the court ladies looks of better quality than the smaller example but no tests. With old damage and repair Both repainted. Larger of Ming style figures has been broken in half and re-glued. Three small figures of a type one used to be able to purchase in China in net bags. Each with 'wear' and scattered losses.
