Catalogue note: Waldo Spore Chase was born in Seattle, Washington on March 7, 1895. He was a printmaker with no formal art training, and a school teacher. Chase taught himself the art of woodcut using the book "Woodblock Printing" by Frank Morley Fletcher.

    The work is archivally hinged at top.
    There is overall toning to the paper.
    There are two old creases to the top right of the work and along the right side.
