Description:

WEDGWOOD CREAMWARE SHELL-SHAPED DESSERT DISH
circa 1770, unmarked, attributed to Wedgwood, enameled in the London workshop of David Rhodes, painter’s puce script G, possibly for Thomas Green naturalistically modeled as half a mollusk shell, finely painted in puce with a convolvulus blossom and scattered sprigs, the undulated rim similarly edged, the underside with two shell form feet, l: 7 1/4 in.
