WEDGWOOD LIGHT-BLUE SOLID JASPERWARE OVAL PORTRAIT MEDALLION OF SARAH SIDDONS (1755-1831) 19th Century, impressed uppercase mark, incised on the reverse Mrs. Siddons modeled by John Flaxman Jr., applied with a white bust-length portrait, the 18th Century tragedian actress depicted in contrapposto, her profile to sinister, h: 4 1/2 in.

Catalogue Note:
A popular actress, Sarah Siddons was married to actor William Siddons in 1773. She played with Garrick in London at Drury Lane appearing as Portia and in 1803 joined her brother, John Philip Kemble at Convent Garden until her retirement in 1812.
