WEDGWOOD WHITE SOLID JASPERWARE TRICOLOR TWO-HANDLED 'ZODIAC' VASE AND COVER circa 1870, impressed uppercase mark and C, recorded as model no. 372, the 'Zodiac' design by Mary Landre (active 1768-1774), later remodeled by William Hackwood, of shield shape with upright wishbone handles, the conical cover with spire finial, applied overall in white, sage-green and lilac, the upper register with a band of 12 astrological emblems, above a central medallion of Polymnia beside an altar, below a rose garland suspended from and punctuated by classical oval bosses, h: 9 in.
