Note:
Rev. John Hopwood was the minister of the chapel of Accrington, England. "The British Magazine and Monthly Register of Religious and Ecclesiastical Information" Volume 11 (1837), page 231, states that "on the morning of the 3rd of January, in the National school-room, Accrington, which was beautifully decorated with evergreens, on the occasion of the presentation of an elegant service of silver plate to the Rev. John Hopwood, incumbent of that place," being a surprise gift from his congregation.
