BERLIN (KPM) PORCELAIN ‘RELIEFZIERAT’ PART BREAKFAST SET late 19th/20th Century, blue sceptre and iron-red orb marks, the tray with impressed M cypher, in the Rococo taste, after the 1763 design by Friedrich Elias Meyer, each piece finely painted with bouquets, floral sprays and scattered insects among trailing spiral-molded rocaille trellis panels enriched in pale turquoise-green and gilt, comprising 1 flower-encrusted footed tray with five reticulated galleried emplacements and two side rocaille-molded emplacements, fitted with the four vessels of tapering pear form, including 1 covered sugar caster, 1 notched cream pot and cover with matching ladle and 2 small jugs and covers (6)

Literature: This set closely relates to the designs of F.E. Meyer’s 2nd Potsdam service, which was ordered by Frederick II for the Neues Palais, Potsdam.
