GROUP OF DELFT VASES, 18TH CENTURY
including a tall high shouldered vase and cover, signed and possibly by Jacobus Harlees, with a large central fishing scene with a central small sailboat within raised scrolling borders, the reverse with a tree and ground with scattered leafy sprigs, the cover with sprigs and a large plume, h: 15 1/2 in.; another high shouldered jar and cover, unsigned, the jar with closely painted vining flowers around a central flower, the reverse with a long leafy strand, with a possibly married cover decorated with flowers to one side and partial raised scroll finial, h: 11 1/2 in.; a molded high shouldered vase with a hunting scene of a gentleman raising his rifle at a flock of geese, his spaniel at his side to central panel enclosed within raised linear borders and raised flower at top, signed in script under base, the reverse with a single flowering leafy sprig, h: 10 1/2 in.; a high shouldered vase, unsigned, with building in landscape below birds in flight within a raised border of flowers and leaves, h: 9 3/4 in.; and a smaller hexagonal faceted jar, unsigned, and decorated with a courting couple below molded barbed band to shoulder and with birds on flowering prunus branches in the Chinese taste, h: 8 1/4 in.   • Condition: Jar with foliate cover: loss and repair to cover, also repaired around rims of cover. Rims of jar also repaired. Base of jar with extensive flaking and glaze loss and chips. Reverse has old adhesions from labels. Jar with broken finial to cover: Foliate jar has glaze loss and flaking to rims, base, shoulders and raised trim. Paint smear to reverse in the making. Small chips all over. Jar with molded shoulder: cracked and broken (discolored too) around jar above base. Raised bits with glaze loss, also small chip to rim. Lacking cover. Burst glaze bubbles to shoulders. Large jar with fisherman: large flakes of glaze loss to shoulders and around base. Rims with flaking and small chips. Large around to reverse with glaze loss above foot. Lacking cover as well. High shouldered vase with towers in landscape: Lacking cover. Large glaze flaked loss to right shoulder. Glaze loss around foot. Raised flowers with glaze flakes to raised surfaces. Glaze flake to central tower roof. Small scattered losses, chips and imperfections commensurate with this type of ware, use and age.
