Note:
Roland Hinton Perry was an American sculptor and painter born in New York City. At the age of 19, he was accepted to the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, and he also studied at both Academie Julian and Delecluse. After returning to the United States, he received a commission for a series of bas-reliefs for the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., and the following year for the Court of Neptune Fountain in front of the Library (now the Thomas Jefferson Building). Other commissions include the statue of 'Commonwealth' on top of the dome of Pennsylvania's Capitol Building (1905).
