TWO NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN FIGURES OF MUSICIANS 20th Century, impressed shield mark to base and underside to both, printed green mark to the cello player, 'Cellospieler', impressed 334 and 10, after a model of circa 1930 by Theodor Karner, based on a design by Simon Troger, the Turkish musician depicted standing and playing his instrument, his black and green hat trimmed in gilt, with conforming long jacket, black neck scarf, white breeches and tall leggings, on a flat oblong base; the pastoral flute player, 'Musiker-Figur', impressed 880, after a model by Resl Schroeder-Lechner (1910-2000), depicted standing and playing his instrument, in black brimmed hat and loose-fitting chemise, his grey breeches with ochre cuffs, on a flat circular base edged in grey, h: 8.75 in. 2)

Literature: The cellist is an allegorical figure from the folklore musical Bergmann Chapel. He is part of a series of musicians at Nymphenburg is titled, the bohmischen bergmannischen Musikkapelle.
