WEDGWOOD VARIEGATED SURFACE AGATE SNAKE-HANDLED VASE circa 1775-1778, impressed uppercase mark, of shield shape, the tall neck flanked by upright serpent entwined loop handles, the surface simulating agate in tones of brown, red and cream slip, applied with gilt enriched stiff leaf-tip and beaded ornamentation, on a circular socle and canted incurved fluted black basalt base, h: 14 1/2 in.
