Catalogue Note:
John Cutts (1771-1851) was formerly a landscape painter at the Pinxton factory in Derbyshire. He is first recorded painting first period bone china at Wedgwood in 1812. For a similar example see, Peter Williams, 'Wedgwood a Collector's Guide', p. 61, fig. 64.
