One creased paper with envelope; Sent from Paris, France, May 24, 1971; "To my teacher Jiyuan, 2 p.m. this afternoon, I received a letter from Mr. Ma attached with a Chinese newspaper which stated that Mrs. Wang passed away on the 19th. It made me real sad; I cried and cannot stop. I tried to call you until 5 p.m. but couldn't get through, so I decided to write you a few words asking you not be too grieved to hurt your health for the sake of your students and the sake of the art, please. Pan Chang Yuliang. 5-24, 6 p.m."
